On Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA Fingerprinting of Schisandra Chinensis extract and Schisandra sphenanthera

Objective To establish the fingerprint of Schisandra Chinensis extract and Schisandra sphenanthera by RAPD to provide a reliable evidence for the identification of them. 


Method CTAB method was used to extract and purify DNA of Schisandra Chinensis extract and Schisandra sphenanthera from different areas,and the RAPD of genome DNA was carried out. 


Results The results showed that there was a great difference in the number and brightness of stripes of RAPD products between Schisandra Chinensis extract and Schisandra sphenanthera. 


Moreover,the intraspecific variation of Schisandra Chinensis extract was smaller and that of Schisandra sphenanthera was larger. Conclusion The technology of RAPD should be a simple,effective and reliable method for the identification of Schisandra chinensis and Schisandra sphenanthera.
